The teeth in the upper jaw are very close to the sinuses. <strong>Root canal filling overflow<\/strong>, <strong>implant tip entering the sinus<\/strong>, or <strong>bone powder placed during sinus lift escaping into the sinus<\/strong>; initiates a <strong>foreign body reaction<\/strong> and <strong>chronic inflammation<\/strong> inside the sinus. This condition is called <strong>odontogenic (tooth-related) sinusitis<\/strong>.
